The book, The First Man of Rome, is set during the world of ancient Rome. You will be required to read an excerpt from this novel (Im having you read an excerpt rather than the entire 978 page novel), Please also keep in mind that the purpose of this essay is to draw parallels between popular culture (whether in novel or film form) and real history by comparing and contrasting the information you’ve learned. This is not to be written as a film summary or a book summation/report. Papers that focus solely on rehashing the events you’ve read or watched will not receive a passing grade.
